Passion and Dream

Hi,

I wish I am finding you well and happy!

Today I feel like sharing with you a little story. I found inspiring lines on internet, while researching for my coaching program          Live Your Purpose, Live Your Life.

This story is about dreams, determination, self-belief and passion. The pearl closed in the shell of the following words is invaluable and I invite you to deeply reflect about how this story relates to your own life.

“The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?” I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.

“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked. She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, have a couple of kids..” “No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. “I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk non-stop I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine” as she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she revealed in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.”

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humour every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding the opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.”

She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.” She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s never too late to be all you can possibly be.

How many dreams did you give up because you became too “old” to pursue them?

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.

It is all about Sharing

parrots_sharing“HAPPINESS IS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED”
― Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

When the lights of your successes shine on you… When you will be recognised for all you have put in what you do… When the joy of the prize touches you… That very joy, is nothing when the same is shared with somebody meaningful, somebody that can colour your life with the magic of Love. In that very moment, you don’t want to be alone, You don’t want to live that event by yourself.

I believe that every moment of our life, without judging it as sad, challenging, happy or joyful, when shared with somebody meaningful, it absorb another taste, a sweet taste enriched by the sweetness of love.

No matter what is that we go through in Life, when somebody else is part of that moment with the intention coming from a place of Love, something magical happen, and the meaning of the event is enriched 100 times more.

I’d love to share these thoughts with you because this is what I have been experiencing in the last few years of my life.

After moving to London and set up my life, I was so caught up in my duties, achievements, goals and parties that I neglected myself the gift of creating a meaningful, loving relationship.

I ended up celebrating a lot of success, most of them by myself or with people who didn’t mean a lot in my life.

Don’t get me wrong, it is not that I don’t appreciate my own company or I am not able to do, what I call. “INNER CELEBRATION”. But at the same time there is a spice that is missing, there is a flavour that could be enriched.

This spice, this flavour is called SHARING.

I believe that we, as human beings, we are born to share. Whether we do it consciously or not we are constantly sharing our feelings, emotions, thoughts and actions with all other living beings through our consciousness field and affecting what Young called our Superconscious or Collective Mind.

When this process has been made conscious, through our desire of sharing, the concentration of  energy created is so strong that the connection, between the living beings experiencing the event, starts writing gentle notes on the pentagram of that melody.

We feel happier, we feel more meaningful, we feel a greater sense of belonging. Belonging to that person, belonging to humanity, belonging to ourself.

Yes, I said belonging to ourself because I believe that the outer world is a mirror of our inner world, of who we really are inside, what we believe and what we value.

Being so, I also believe that those meaningful people who come to enrich every moment of our life, have the power to help connecting deeper within ourself. To get in touch and let out all the love and the care that resides within us.

This is because those people are so precious. This is because they are like jewels to preserve and care. To preserve and care with no attachments. With the awareness that one day, they will maybe move on to enrich the life of another person with the missing taste.

I am deeply grateful that after so many years I had the chance to experience it yesterday night, at the NCS 2012 Autumn graduation when (I am aware that this is my ego speaking…) I have been awarded with the Stand Out Staff Member prize after my first job as a Youth Coach. In that moment I was surrounded by all the people who made it possible: my mentor Steve, all the young people on the program, the other Youth Coaches and the member of the Future Foundations.

And it wouldn’t be the same if my girlfriend wouldn’t be there, seated at the back of the room, with a silent smile. During the night our sights crossed just a couple of times. But her eyes were saying to me: “Well done Simo, I am here for You.”

Her presence was the most beautiful gift of the night.

The bottom line is, don’t limit yourself and the experiences you are living. Share it with the all the meaningful people around you, people who can enrich your life with their support, care and love.

Thank You Silvia for sharing your Life with me and enrich my days with the sweet flavour of your love.

Your Turn

  • Think about all the meaningful people you have in your life.
  • Now think about all the meaningful people you’d like to have in the happiest moment of your life.
  • Who would you like to share the happiest moment of your life with?
  • Now take the time to tell them how you feel about them and why they are important for you. Don’t take for granted they know you love them.

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.

Vulnerability

vulnerability“When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability… To be alive is to be vulnerable.”
― Madeleine L’Engle

Hello,

I wish I am finding you well and happy!

Today, I am writing the blog from a room of a friend of mine. In front of me, through the foggy window, a white blanket of snow is covering the green grass of the opposite park, enhancing the strong red of the DLR trains.

Today I feel to free write. There won’t be any topic but what I have experienced  this morning, during a call with my coach Illa Khagram from Radian Lotus, which I deeply thank for taking the time, the honesty and the integrity to bringing me back to my centre. This is what I needed.

It happens to me very often that, when things start going in the direction I want, in the direction I expect, and I got recognition for what I do, my dear friend EGO, gets a little pumped up and tend to take a strong control. I don’t really know yet how to spot the moment where my ego kicks in and sits on the driving seat. But I know that he is a very fast driver, with the foot always on the accelerator.

He wants to do it, and he wants to do it quickly. He wants results and he wants results now. He wants to feel rewarded, and he wants to feel rewarded now. He wants appreciation, and he wants to feel appreciated now. He wants to be the best, and he wants to be the best now.

My ego is very proud, I cannot deny that. And he hates the feeling of being left behind. He hates the shame of being the last.

This is very empowering because I am moved from a strong drive to grow, learn, and excel in everything I do. And is also very limiting at the same time. I rarely allow myself the time to fully grow. I rarely allow myself the time to assess the beauty of the NOW. I rarely allow myself to be humble and I rarely allow myself to be vulnerable.

I rarely allow myself to be vulnerable.

Now, while writing, a strong emotion is coming up in a tear. A gentle tear.

Vulnerability, something I often preach, but rarely practice or show.

My ego wants to feel invincible.

My ego wants to feel that he has everything under control.

My ego wants to have an answer for everything.

Like Illa said before: “I see you affected by the COACH SYNDROME!!”

My ego often wear this thick mask of knowledge, wisdom and strength that is very difficult, even for me, to see what my Shining Self is really saying and really wants. And I misinterpret his messages. On the other hand my head is very strong and I am very connected to the thinking patterns of my past, losing focus on my emotions.

Now I am here writing and crying…

It has been a long time since last time I cried…. even for joy.

It’s a beautiful, liberating feelings…. And to all the people who believe that crying means weakness… well try it and you will let me know how you feel!

Or maybe it is me that I subconsciously believe that crying means weakness, that vulnerability means weakness.

Yes!! Now I got the point!!

It is great to have an epiphany while blogging!! I know what to work on now…

I value so much the opportunity that this blog gave me today to express feelings I had stored from such a long time. Allowing me to be vulnerable, allowing me to be Me.

Your Turn

Spend the next 10 min. being vulnerable and be true with yourself. Talk to Your Ego like you were talking to a friend and write down a letter to your Ego.

Start with: Dear Ego…………

and let your hand flow.

Don’t judge Your thoughts.

I have been introduced to this exercise,  that now I do regularly, from Illa. It always have a great Healing Power.

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.

Your Higher Self, Your Shining Self 2

shining self “A man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life.”                              James Allen

Hi!

During the week a lot of positive comments about the post Your Higher Self, Your Shining Self. For this reason and for enthusiasm elicited I decided, today, to expand on the topic “The Higher Self”.

Today I want to share with You some quotation that made a big impact in my understanding about the Higher Self.

“We are spiritual being having a human experience.”

“A man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life.”                              James Allen

“Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul.”                                                                 Democritus

“You don’t have a soul.  You are a Soul.  You have a body.”  ~C.S. Lewis

“Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.”                                                             ~Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“You are a beautiful soul hidden by the trench coat of the ego.”   ~Mike Dolan

What are these quotes telling You? What the most important people who shaped the history of Humanity were trying to tell us?

Listen to Your own soul for the answer.

Well… ok.. Now You know Who is Your Shining Self and You might ask Yourself:

Why it is so important to reconnect with My soul.?Why cannot I not to connect with my soul?

The answer?…

This is the reason why we are hereThis is the reason why we are having this experience. Reconnect with our Shining Self and remember our mission, our purpose.

Without reconnecting with your soul, you won’t be able to access your purpose.

Your purpose is the message that Your soul carries within and is the message you are called to deliver in your human experience.

Connecting with Your Shining Self you will experience the purposeful life of joy, abundance and love you deserve. Connecting with your soul you will find the guidance you’ll need to find for the next step. Or to overcome challenges when things get tough.

Yes, because Life, sometimes, can be tough. Life, sometimes, can prove us in ways we would never imagine.

And let me tell you. I had a very “interesting” year with a lot of challenges that manifested in my life. And my question was.

How can I find the time to develop my spiritual practice in the midst of these troubles?

I have so many things I have to care about!! And there it came the answer. For me was “If you don’t do it will get worst!”. Very smartly I decided to ignore the answer. Like it was wishing me bad luck!! goof!!and You know what? Things got worst!

So my next question was..

How Can things get better now for me?

And the answer was: “Find the time to develop a spiritual practice!!”

Funny isn’t it? So this time I decided to listen to this voice.

And I’ve been pondering….

What is a spiritual practice?

Is it Yoga? Is it meditation? Is it prayer? Is it service?

What is a spiritual practice?…. I didn’t know!

And here is what I’ve understood now.. And you might want to take a note.

A spiritual practice is everything, that enhance your spirit, is everything that makes you happy, is everything that makes other people happy unconditionally. Everything can be a spiritual practice.

Eating, driving, making love, dancing, singing, volunteering, serving…..

Everything that is done with the intention of serving the highest good with joy and integrity.

This is my definition of spiritual practice.

Everything that serves the highest good with joy and integrity.

What did I gain from this?

Unfortunately any superpower or any x-ray view… although it sounded cool!!

I gained, instead, the strengths of facing the challenges that life was presenting to me , I gained the understanding of what really makes me happy and how can I make other people happy. I gained the wisdom that is bringing me to value every minute of my life. and make it meaningful.

I’m not saying I’m there. There is a long way to run. But I know that I’m on the right way. And I have strengths and the energy to run this colourful path.

This is what You can gain.

Your Turn

If You feel like you are trapped in the net of your problems, try to take a time out, to sit and enjoy yourself, to do something good for you and others. You’ll be amazed by the shift that this will make in your life.

Take NOW!! the time to connect with Your Shining Self!!

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.

LOVE

love-inspirational-daily“A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, a man cannot live without Love.” Max Muller

Hi,

I wish I am finding you well and in Love.

Today, as you can see by the picture, I am going to talk about Love.

I want to talk about Love in a way I have never done before.

I took out some scratch notes I wrote during my travel in Gran Canaria. 4 days… Just myself and the nature. Sleeping on the beach, under the stars and climbing mountains during the night in order to taste the sweet colours of a gentle sunrise.

While moving and walking, my head started wondering and thinking about Love.

Yes I was in a deep loving and connected state in that moment and I decided to frame my feelings in words written on a blank paper.

This is the translations of 2 ages I wrote about love during the holiday. Maybe my thoughts are changed now… but that was me and I don’t want to change what that Me had thought in that moment. It feels very unusual for me going through these notes, as I haven’t reviewed them for 1 year now.

I leave You enjoy this written monologue entitled.

LOVE

After a long day of walking, witnessing the magnificence of Mother Nature on top of the Roque Nublo, and blessing this experience with all my Love, now I found myself close to Tejeda and, freeing the flow of my thoughts, I found myself to give an ABSOLUTE definition of Love for me. Retracing my mental journey, the monologue has followed these traits.

Starting identifying Love with the act of creation, I established the syllogism LOVE=CREATION. If CREATION=LIFE. So LOVE=LIFE.

Following Eastern Philosophies and the discoveries from Quantum Physics, in my opinion, what we usually call God, or Energy, can be called also Love, because principle of creation. Likewise I can say that Life is nothing but Love, and just Loving unconditionally I can re-connect with the substrate, letting go of the veil of Maya of duality.

Also, chemically speaking, our body is designed for Love.  Just surrendering to Love, our body release the hormones necessary for Life.

Assuming that LIFE=LOVE, my question has been: “Why have we restricted a concept such vast and absolute to a feeling, for the most limited to few people (friends, loving relationship,family..) Historically I cannot find an answer to this question.

Then I’d thought to distinguish between Absolute Love and Relative Love.

Relative Love is the Holliwood Love with which we have grown up. A limited feeling, directed mostly to other human beings close to us. It is called Lobby Love. It is an extension of the Absolute Love and it represent one of his Infinite Realities. It is pure idealisation, that takes shape from a predetermined set of emotions, whereby for semantic similarity, it has been called Love. Despite the romantic connotation and the pleasure of the feelings it is limited in time and space, but at the same time necessary to understand the transcendental concept of Absolute Love.

Absolute Love is the perfect and complete realisation of the Relative Love. It is the love of a cell for the body in which it lives, of the mother for a son, of Mother Earth for her inhabitants and of the Universe with his Creatures. It is Creation. Pure Creation. It manifests Itself in millions of ways……….(incomprehensible)…..”

This is what I wrote last year after my 10h walk in Gran Canaria… It might sounds a bit confusing …. And I believe this is the beauty of it. It has not been contaminated, it has been always kept secure.

It reminds me of what I was feeling and how I was  feeling in that moment of my life….

With Love

Simone

Your Higher Self, Your Shining Self

Your Shinig Self“The key to the universe lies dormant within the self, waiting to awaken through self-discovery”    Taejoon Lee

Hi!!

I’m really Happy to connect with You again.

Today we are going to talk about Your Shining Self and we are going to tap into who is your Shining Self,  understand why you want to connect with Your Shining Self, to explore what does spirituality really means and what role plays the spiritual practice in everyday’s life, and finally, How you can connect with Your Shining Self.

This will be an amazing journey of emotional self discovery and I’m excited to share this moment with You.

You see… I firmly believe that everything in Life happens for a reason.  Yes, there is a reason why I’m here with You now. There is a reason why You are here reading these words. My wish for You is that the message wrapped in this experience may manifest with clarity and love.

Are You ready? Fantastic!!

Who Is Your Shining Self? What is Thyself? Does the soul really exists? and if it exists, why it is not possible to see it?

There could be infinite questions around the topic of the soul. I don’t want You to believe what I’m saying blindly. This is just what make sense to me and it is part of my experience. Take what You feel is right for You. If You see some value in these words, take it. And compost what doesn’t resonate with You!

I believe, Your Shining Self, is that part of You that resides within You. That part of You that is the host of Your body. Ancient scriptures always said, “Your body is a Temple.”

What is a temple?

A temple is accepted to be seen the house of God. The house of a superior entity. The house of something that we cannot see, but we can feel and perceive.

The question is: If our body is a temple, and I’m assuming we can accept that,

Who lives in this temple?

Who is the entity that we cannot see, but feel, that inhabits this temple?

This is Your Shining Self. Religions and Spiritual traditions from all ages have underlined the existence and the importance of the soul. Our soul…

How happened that our soul, that was floating around, drinking pina colada while playing and drifting around the clouds, ended up in our body?

We have to accept now that the reality we are living in is not the only reality existing. We have to accept that this reality, as we perceive is formed by very solid, dense and low vibrations of the Field. This is what make possible the manifestations of the world as we see it. But as the vibration increase or change, other levels of reality are manifesting all around us, levels of reality that are difficult to perceive at our regular state of consciousness. When Changing and our state of consciousness we are more likely to have experiences of the other realities surrounding us. Basically, what we are doing is aligning our vibrational frequencies to the vibrations existing in that reality.

My experience taught me that our Shining Self vibrates at frequencies that can be associated to the frequencies of the feelings of Appreciation, Love and Gratitude.

Have You ever had the experience of feeling heavy and depressed?  Feeling like  a suffocating weight on Your chest? Great!!, You have experienced low frequencies, generally associated with feelings related to fear, discomfort, shame… all dear  friends that made our life not so easy. Don’t you agree?

But

What happen when You feel grateful for something? What Happen when you genuinely appreciate something? What Happen when You care for someone with all your heart?

You feel lighter isn’t it? Maybe you can have a warm feeling around your heart or tingling sensation in your hands… This is because You are raising your vibrational frequencies, aligning with Your Shining Self… Who You really are.

YOUR TURN

I took inspiration, for the following exercise, from the Hearth Math Institute. They have developed technologies in that can measure the level of coherence of the heart-brain connection while observing the heart waves. What they found out is that emotions can affect the heart waves and the level of coherence of the heart-brain connection.

With a simple technique they were able to measure that was possible to            re-establish a coherent connection after an emotional disturbance.

Try it NOW!!

  1. Breath slowly and gently for 1 minute or 2, focusing your attention around the area of your heart.
  2. When you’ll start feeling relaxed and comfortable, think about something pleasurable for you. An event, a place or a person of the past, of the present or of the future.
  3. Keep on focusing on that image, and the positive feelings that are flowing in you.
  4. After less than 5 min. you’ll find yourself in a more relaxed and resourceful state.

Keep on practice and it will become automatic to do it whenever you’ll feel in an uncomfortable situation.

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.

Expectations can destroy or enrich your Life.

tc-5_expectation“When someone sees the same people every day, as had happened with him at the seminary, they wind up becoming a part of that person’s life. And then they want the person to change. If someone isn’t what others want them to be, the others become angry. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.” Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Etymology:

expectation (n.) 1530s, from M.Fr. expectation(14c.) or directly from L. expectationem/exspectationem (nom. expectatio/exspectatio) “anticipation, an awaiting,” noun of action from pp. stem ofexpectare/exspectare(see expect). Related: Expectations.

Definition:

  • Anticipation of something happening: a confident belief or strong hope that a particular event will happen;
  • Notion of something: a mental image of something expected, often compared to its reality.
  • Expected standard: a standard of conduct or performance expected by or of somebody.
  • Prospects for future: somebody’s likely prospects of wealth or success in the future, especially of inheriting money under somebody’s will.”

What are really our expectations and what is the power they ultimately have upon our life?

When talking about expectations, suddenly, a story comes up to my mind. The story tells about a little child. It was the morning of an old and snowy Christmas day. The little child, woke up, rushing, almost flying downstairs, in the  where, under the green and decorated Christmas tree, 3 packs, of different dimension, colours and shape where standing, like little soldiers waiting for their captain. With a sparkling glow in his eyes, the child started unpacking all the presents, expecting to find, in one of them the Transformer he asked in the letter to Santa Claus. The first one was a c.d. player, the second a little flute and the third a huge Transformer. Suddenly the little child realised that what he was holding was not the one he was expecting, but it was slightly different. With tears in the eyes, screaming and kicking the other presents, the little child went back into the room, crying for hours.

What is this story telling you?

So often, in Life, we are that little child. We have great expectations on people, events, circumstances. We put expectations in everything that surround us. And we hold on so tightly to those expectations that, if not fulfilled, a sense of anger and frustration take over ourselves. And as the little child, we begin to despise all the other presents that enrich our life every single breath.

While focusing on what we expect to receive, we often don’t notice and delete what we have and what is beautiful around us. Like the kid of the story, who was unhappy even tough he received a lot of different presents.

People, events, circumstances… Everything is like a present. A present wrapped in the beautiful paper of Life. Very often we pretend that the content of the present is exactly what we want, is exactly what have dreamed of. Too often we forget that Life is like a caring person. A person that knows our wants, but he better knows our needs. And before serving us with what we want, he serve us with what we really need now, in order to make the best of we will have in the future.

How many times, wrapping the gifts unfolded in the paper of experience we didn’t find what we expected to find? How many times have we been blaming our givers for that? And how many times we turned out thanking our givers because we understood at a later time the value of that gift?

The faces of the coin of Expectations

Expectations are like a coin. A coin with 2 different, opposite faces. Expectations can destroy or save your life.  Expectations can be your best friend, or your worst enemy.

Expectations can be the fuel or the break at the same time. It is up to you how you choose to use this amazing tool we have to our disposal.

Use Your expectations as being your map, but not the destination of your journey. Let them give you a sense of direction and the boost to maintain that direction. Don’t let them become Your destination. and be open to change of directions and sideways. Otherwise You’ll be stuck following a map that won’t lead you anywhere.

Your Turn

This week live with expectancy. Remind yourself, no matter what you will experience, that everything is coming for your Highest good. That everything is made for you. Don’t judge it as positive or negative. Just observe it and see the gift wrapped in this experience.

Choose an experience that you want and every night, before going to sleep, Ask Yourself.

  1.  What is the gift in this for me?
  2. What is wrapped in this experience for me?
  3. What can I learn from this experience?

Just stay with the experience and observe it.

Then write your thoughts on a journal and share your thought on our blog, on our Facebook page Your Power to Shine and follow us Twitter.

I’d love to hear from You and what do You think about the article.
